Situational Judgement Test

1. Start your preparation as early as possible

We highly recommend you start the preparation for your End-Point Assessment as early as possible. By doing so, this will allow you to understand how the standards you are learning will be assessed and in turn how best to prepare for them during your assessment. 

2. Understand what is being assessed

It is essential to understand which specific standards are being assessed in the Situational Judgement Test. This will allow you to focus your preparation in these specific areas to give you the best opportunity to achieve the highest possible outcome.

You can find this information in the Assessment Plan provided by the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

3. Ask for help if you need it!

We are available to discuss and support you with any aspect of your End-Point Assessment once you have successfully passed 'Gateway'. Prior to this your Training Provider is usually the best point of contact for any support or queries that you may have.

4. Take advantage of the Mock Assessment

In preparation for your Situational Judgement Test you will be given details on how to access you Mock Assessment. This will have no impact on your final grade but will help you to:

-  Understand how the questions will be structured

- See how the test platform and invigilation software works

- Discover any compatibility issues in advance of your final assessment

- Build confidence by gaining an understanding on how the test is structured/delivered.

5. Read the Assessment Policies carefully

All assessments provided by PASS EPA must be completed under strict 'Examinations conditions' (based on JCQ Guidelines).

Failure to comply with this policy during your assessment is likely to result in a 'Fail' grade being awarded and may result in further action being taken, depending on the type/nature of the breach/violation that has occurred.

Remember, it could be the difference between a 'Pass' or 'Fail'.

6. Booking your Situational Judgement Test

When you are ready to do so, you can book your Situational Judgement Test below:


Please note: You are required to complete all assessments within three months of 'Gateway' approval.

In line with the PASS EPA Cancellation policy, at least 24 hours’ notice must be provided in order to cancel or amend a booking. Failure to do so may result in a late cancellation fee and/or a ‘Fail’ grade being awarded for this specific part of your assessment. In exceptional circumstances, we may consider late cancellations or amendments where sufficient evidence is provided.

6. Location of your Assessment

The vast majority of our assessments are delivered remotely and invigilated via an online proctor that uses your. 

Please remember you must complete the Situational Judgement Test under strict 'Examinations conditions'. This means you will need to ensure a quiet room is available/booked where you can be alone and will not be distracted at any point during your assessment.


Please also see the 'Assessment Resources' that you are required to print and display on the door of the room you will be taking your assessment in to ensure you are not disturbed.

7. Taking your Situational Judgement Test

A Final Confirmation will be emailed to you the day before your assessment is due to take place. This will include the link to your assessment and the login details you require.

Please remember you must complete the Situational Judgement Test under strict 'Examinations conditions'. This means you will need to ensure you find a quiet room
